DENVER (KDVR) — Denver is losing people, and so is Colorado as a whole. Bandimere Speedway closing at end of drag racing season Denver lost 4,200 people between January 2023 and March 2023, according to real estate brokerage Redfin, placing it among the top 10 cities people are leaving most. East and West Coast cities are losing the most people. San Francisco tops the list, having lost 31,100 people in the first three months of 2023. New York City, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. lost between 18,000 and 23,400 people apiece. Colorado as a whole is also among the states people are looking to leave. Around 3,000 more people have been looking to leave Colorado than enter it in the first three months of the year. A string of violence across Miami-Dade and Broward has communities on edge as another shooting that occurred in Hallandale Beach left one person injured and another dead.Several detectives and police officers were at the scene at the Beachwalk Hotel, a luxury hotel and resort located at 2602 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd., as they searched the third floor of the parking garage where the shots were fired.According to officials, a man and a woman were shot leading to the woman’s demise. A dramatic scene unfolded in Fort Lauderdale after a carjacking led to a SWAT situation on Monday morning.According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers responded to a carjacking that occurred in the 1200 block of Northeast 11th Avenue. Around 4 a.m., police spotted the victim’s vehicle near Northwest 13th Street and Powerline Road a few minutes later.The SWAT team responded after the suspect barricaded himself following a police pursuit that ended at Northeast 13th Street and Fourth Avenue.Live video footage showed the vehicle boxed in by Fort Lauderdale Police SUVs and SWAT officers searching the car with their weapons out. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that took the life of 18-year-old Kyandre K. Johnbaptiste.On Saturday, 911 dispatchers received a report of a shooting near the 4100 block of Southwest 30th Street in West Park at around 7 p.m. BSO deputies quickly responded to the scene and found Johnbaptiste collapsed on the roadway. He was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, where he was pronounced dead.BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene detectives were immediately called to the scene to process evidence and interview witnesses. Preliminary investigations revealed that Johnbaptiste was riding an electric scooter when he was shot.Authorities are now urging anyone with information to come forward and help with the investigation.
