DEC releases first sustainability plan

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos announced the release of the agency’s first sustainability plan. The plan includes commitments to decarbonization projects and to reducing the DEC's impact on the environment. The DEC identifies 25 goals and 70 actions they aim to take, such as aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, decrease waste, conserving water, and protecting species and habitats. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)--Sunday will mark one year since the racially motivated shooting at Tops Supermarket in Buffalo that killed 10 people and wounded three others. The gunman streamed the tragedy online. He plead guilty, but lawsuits continue. On Thursday, a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by attorneys of some of the victim’s families. They are suing six social media platforms and streaming services, the gunman’s parents, and others. GRANVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The former Granville Central School Transportation Supervisor has been arrested for allegedly making unauthorized purchases with funds from the school district. Tyler P. Police launched an investigation after a complaint was made by the Granville Central School Administration. Investigators determined that Kelley had used school district funds totaling over $1,800, to make multiple unauthorized purchases for his personal benefit.Police also recovered property that allegedly belonged to the school district that Kelley did not return when he resigned in March 2023. KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Ulster County Grand Jury has indicted Brian Roberts, 26, for second-degree murder. According to the indictment, Roberts intentionally caused the death of his father, Anthony Roberts, 57, on May 4. ST. LOUIS - An investigation is underway after three people were found fatally shot Friday afternoon across two scenes in north St. Louis. Within the last hour, police have responded to reported shootings in the North Pointe and Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhoods. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department first responded to a shooting near the intersection of McLaren Avenue and Goodfellow Boulevard in the North Pointe neighborhood. Officers found two men inside a car who had suffered gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced deceased. Moving past controversy, Anheuser-Busch plans to recover losses A short time later, SLMPD then responded to a shooting in the 3600 block of Garfield Boulevard in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. A local man is missing for over a month and Denver police are asking for the public’s help in finding him.James “Jay” Montoya, 26, was last seen about 2:30 a.m. April 2 leaving the Hangar 101 Bar & Grill on West Jewell Avenue in Lakewood, according to a Metro Denver Crime Stoppers alert.Denver police, who are heading the missing person investigation, said Montoya was last seen in a sedan with a distinctive paint job.Montoya last posted a snap chat from the area of West Alameda Avenue and Federal Boulevard, according to Denver7.
