Biden administration set to sue Texas as US Speaker visits border AUSTIN (Nexstar) -- The Department of Justice is expected to file a lawsuit against Texas and its controversial new border security law on Wednesday, accusing the state of infringing on federal authority and empowering local police to unconstitutionally arrest suspected illegal immigrants.Last week, federal authorities threatened to sue to block Senate Bill 4 if Gov. At the scene, police found a man, later identified as 48-year-old Arthur Cortez, outside the store with a gunshot wound.Officers performed first aid, but Cortez was later pronounced dead, according to FPD.A clerk at the store told police a man entered the store, went to the back to put on a white skull mask, and returned to the front before firing a gun.The clerk said the suspect demanded money, so the clerk retrieved it from the cash drawer. In size, the lake is 25 miles east to west and 10 miles north to south.“That day crossing that crack, I didn’t think anything of it,” said Dale Mord.He went out on the lake with his buddies, set to fish on Dec. 18. St. Paul woman and six kids in hospital after overnight house fire Firefighters pulled six children and a woman from a St. Paul home Wednesday morning and they were taken to the hospital in critical condition.The fire department was called at 1:30 a.m. about a residential house fire in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood and found a single-family home with smoky conditions, said Deputy Fire Chief Roy Mokosso.The first crew arrived three minutes and 17 seconds after being dispatched, and more crews were there within five minutes of the dispatch, the fire department said.St. Paul firefighters put out a fire in the 1200 block of Arkwright Street and took seven people to the hospital on Jan. 3, 2024. Car collides with MetroLink train in East St. Louis EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. -- A vehicle appears to have crashed near the MetroLink crossing on Martin Luther King Drive in East St. Louis on Wednesday morning. Light rail service is disrupted between the 5th & Missouri and Emerson Park stations. The car hit the train. The driver says that his brakes went out before the crash.Shuttles are taking train passengers between the stations. Metro says that riders may be delayed by an hour in the area. Gov. Parson issues Missouri executive order over foreign-owned farmland It is not yet clear why the car collided with the train or if there are any injuries. A FOX 2 photographer is on the scene.
