GUSTY WINDS YET AGAIN

Published Wed, 05 Mar 2025 04:22:32 GMT

Happy Sunday, South Florida!Hopefully everyone had a nice start to the weekend. The work week ended on a quiet note and after windy conditions with on and off showers across our area all week, South Florida finally saw nice conditions on Saturday. And while it was still gusty at times, sustained winds were not as strong as they had been all week long. This made it feel warm outside at times on Saturday. This morning we once again woke up to quiet conditions with a mix of sun and clouds and a building breeze. There could be some change in the horizon. The weather pattern might be changing as we work our way into the work week. A little more in the way of moisture could be returning to the forecast, which means South Florida could expect a few more showers than what we experienced on Saturday. Moscow to retaliate in kind if EU uses profits from frozen Russia assets: Putin ally

Published Wed, 05 Mar 2025 04:22:32 GMT

Moscow is preparing to confiscate the assets of “unfriendly” EU nations in retaliation if the bloc pushes ahead with a proposal to seize the profits from frozen Russian holdings, a high-level Russian official said on Sunday. The warning from Vyacheslav Volodin, head of the lower house of Russia’s parliament, came after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday said the EU executive is looking into sanctioned Russian state assets as a way to help worn-torn Ukraine rebuild. The move, she stressed, aligns with a previous political decision to hold Moscow accountable for Ukraine’s reconstruction following Russian President Vladimir Putin all-out invasion of the country. Volodin, a Putin ally, made clear that if EU forges ahead with the proposal, Moscow’s reaction would inflict more economic pain on the EU than the other way round.“A number of European politicians, led by the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, ...

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A presidential primary filing period marked by lights, cameras and (in)action has come to a close at the New Hampshire secretary of state’s office. Two weeks before he dropped out, former Vice President Mike Pence was the only candidate to have his own studio lights shining on him as he signed up for the yet-to-be-scheduled Republican contest next year.Former President Donald Trump’s staff ripped up tape from the carpet that reserved spots for local journalists and put his campaign photographer up front instead.President Joe Biden skipped signing up altogether, in deference to changes that the Democratic National Committee is making to the nominating calendar. While Biden will rely on a write-in campaign, the Democratic ballot hardly will be blank. U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota simultaneously announced his campaign and signed up to get on the ballot on Friday, the final day of the filing period. Self-help author Mar...
