Nail found in Halloween candy in St. Clair West and Lansdowne area Toronto police have been notified of Halloween candy tampering where a nail was reportedly found in a chocolate bar.Police were called to the McRoberts Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West area, near Lansdowne Avenue, for a suspicious incident.A nail was reportedly found in a pre-wrapped Halloween candy while being eaten by an adult.The adult sustained minor injuries but did not ingest the nail. The chocolate was obtained on Oct. 31 in the area of McRoberts Avenue between Rogers Road and St.Clair Avenue West.Toronto police remind families to inspect all Halloween treats before consumption.

TVO workers reach tentative deal with employer, ending strike TORONTO — Dozens of workers at Ontario’s public broadcaster will return to work Monday after voting this weekend to accept a new collective agreement and end a strike that’s stretched on for nearly three months.TVO says the accepted offer includes a wage increase of 7.7 per cent over three years — three per cent retroactive to 2022, 2.75 per cent in 2023 and 1.75 per cent in 2024.The employer says it also withdrew various proposals that would have extended employment contracts beyond two years. 3 men found shot dead in Brighton Park CHICAGO -- Three men were found shot dead in the Brighton Park neighborhood overnight. Police responded to fired shots near the 3100 block of West 39th Place where they found a red dodge SUV occupied by two men who were unresponsive. One victim who seemed to be between the ages of 20 to 30 was found with a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead on the scene. Another victim was found with multiple gunshot wound to the body and was pronounced dead on the scene. 10-year-old hospitalized after South Side shooting A third victim, a 19-year-old, was found near the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was also pronounced dead on the scene.
