LOUIS -- The holiday season wrapped up, and now it's time for Christmas trees to find a new purpose by recycling them.St. Louis:If you live in the city, there are two ways to recycle your tree.Option one: Put it in your alley for bulk pickup. A 31-year-old Fort Collins man was sentenced to 60 days in jail for animal cruelty after leaving his dog in his car with the windows rolled up in July for more than four hours while playing golf in Littleton, causing the dog to die of heat exhaustion.Michael Reynolds was sentenced to 60 days in jail, two years of probation, 100 hours of “useful public service,” monitored sobriety, a dog ownership class, court fines and fees and no dog ownership for two years in Jefferson County court on Tuesday.Reynolds’s attorney filed an emergency motion to appeal the sentence, according to the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office.Reynolds was accused of leaving his dog, a German shepherd mix named Keef, in his car for over four hours in 80-degree temperatures while he played an 18-hole round of golf at the Foothills Golf Course.The inside of a car reaches 123 degrees after an hour when it’s 80 degrees outside, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.Witnesses reported hearin...Firefighters battle large fire at the home of Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill and his family are safe after fire rescue crews responded to a large fire at his South Florida home Wednesday afternoon. The house, which is located in Southwest Ranches about 30 miles northwest of Miami, was shown Wednesday afternoon on local station WSVN 7 News with a large amount of black smoke coming out of the roof as firefighters doused it with water. No injuries have been reported.Hill had been at Dolphins practice as Miami prepares for its regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, but he left after being told about the fire.Footage showed Hill arriving at his home just before 3 p.m. EST with his left foot in a walking boot. Guests aboard a whale-watching vessel caught a rare sight Tuesday when a pod of orcas attacked a gray whale and its calf off the Southern California coast.A Harbor Breeze cruise out of Long Beach witnessed a mother gray whale fighting off a female Eastern Tropical Pacific orca near the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County, Assistant Port Captain & Spokesman Tyler Askari told KTLA.Video shared by Askari on social media shows blood in the water during the battle, which unfolded right next to the boat and its passengers and had started several minutes before they arrived."The adult gray whale did end up surviving after the orcas gave up on the fight," Askari said. Guests visiting the “Happiest Place on Earth” in January and February won’t be able to experience all of the resort’s rides and attractions since several will be closed due to planned refurbishments.It’s a Small World, Grizzly River Run, Sailing Ship Columbia and “World of Color” will all be temporarily closed beginning on Jan. 7 or 8. The four attractions will join the Astro Orbitor and Mark Twain Riverboat on the refurbishment list, according to the Disneyland website.
