By Katelyn Polantz and Tierney Sneed and Jeremy Herb | CNNRudy Giuliani is staring down hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills and sanctions amid numerous lawsuits in addition to the new criminal charges – related to his work for Donald Trump after the 2020 election. In court on Monday, the former New York City mayor said the legal quagmires have left him effectively out of cash. He even appears to have responded to some of the money crunch by listing for sale a 3-bedroom Manhattan apartment he owns for $6.5 million. Not including standard legal fees, Giuliani faces nearly $90,000 in sanctions from a judge in a defamation case, a $20,000 monthly fee to a company to host his electronic records, $15,000 or more for a search of his records, and even a $57,000 judgment against his company for unpaid phone bills. While he has declined in court to provide details of his financial state, his lawyers wrote this week that “producing a detailed financial report is only meant to embarras...Oakland A’s outfielder could miss rest of season with knee injury

JJ Bleday was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left knee sprain and Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said he was unsure whether the outfielder would be able to return this season.Bleday was injured Sunday in Washington while making a play on a ball hit to left field. He went 1-for-4 in that game with two runs and a walk in what became a crushing 8-7 loss in which Oakland allowed six runs in the ninth inning.Kotsay said Bleday, 25, suffered a strain to his anterior cruciate ligament and that team doctors recommended that he be shut down from all activity for the time being. Although no decision has been finalized, Kotsay said, “It’s definitely going to have to be discussed whether JJ can finish the year at any capacity. It’s an unfortunate injury.”The A’s (33-86) have just 42 games remaining after Tuesday’s game with the St. Louis Cardinals, as they entered the night 38 games behind the Texas Rangers for first place in the American League West. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Almost a week after the Apple faithful collectively gasped at the first evidence that the iPhone’s red “end call” button might soon be vacating its center position to take up residence one column to the right, it looks like it might have been mostly a false alarm. The initial shock followed the release of last week's test, or beta, version of iOS 17, the next major update of the iPhone’s operating software. That's where users first saw the end-call button, which has traditionally lived in splendid isolation centered well below function buttons such as “mute,” “keypad” and “speaker,” instead joining its peers and taking a more assimilated position in the lower right-hand corner of a six-button block.
