Crowds of residents near San Bernardino gathered to watch as a bear led officials on a chase through town Thursday night before it was tragically killed by a driver.The female bear was first spotted in a tree at Mary and Darby Streets in Muscoy, an area north of San Bernardino.News of the chase reached local residents, bringing out large crowds of bystanders hoping to catch a glimpse of the bear.“It was just a really crazy day,” said Briseida Perez, a Muscoy resident.The bear is between three and four years old, weighs between 250 and 300 pounds and is originally from Sierra Madre, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.After posting up in a tree in Muscoy Thursday morning around 7:30 a.m., she stayed there nearly all day.Bear on the run in Muscoy on Sept. 28, 2023. Los Angeles County man fatally stabbed in Kern County prison; fellow inmates suspected

A man convicted of murder in Los Angeles County was fatally stabbed in North Kern State Prison by two fellow inmates, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.Josafat Bonifacio, 32, was attacked just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday, allegedly by 30-year-old Andrew Jimenez and 28-year-old Anthony Rivera, the CDCR said in a news release. The two men are believed to have been armed with "an inmate-manufactured weapon," and Bonifacio "sustained multiple stab wounds," the release said.He died about an hour after the stabbing while he was on the way to the hospital.Bonifacio arrived at the prison on May 30 after he was sentenced to serve life with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder. More than 26 years after the drive-by shooting and death of rapper Tupac Shakur, an arrest has been made in connection to the incident.Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. SUNNYVALE — Authorities on Thursday arrested three people in connection with a shooting that wounded a man more than two weeks ago in Sunnyvale.The shooting, along with a car crash, happened around 10:40 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Arbutus and Hawthorn avenues. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.The man was taken to a hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.Detectives identified three suspects in the shooting as Destinee Armenta, Elder Caballero-Valencia and Raymond Gantt, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a statement Friday.On Thursday, SDPS and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams arrested Armenta and Caballero-Valencia at a residence in Modesto. IRS contractor charged with stealing Trump’s tax returns

A source familiar with the matter told CNN that official is former President Donald Trump.The man, 38-year-old Charles Edward Littlejohn, worked with the IRS from 2018 to 2020, according to court documents. During his contract, Littlejohn allegedly stole “tax returns and return information associated with Public Official A” and disclosed that information to a news organization.Though the official is not named in court documents, a source familiar with the investigation told CNN the tax returns in question were Trump’s.In addition to the former president’s tax documents, Littlejohn is also accused of stealing IRS information on “thousands of the nation’s wealthiest people, including returns and return information dating back more than 15 years.” Littlejohn then sent that ...

Man dies after possible fight on Antioch trail, investigated as homicide: police

(KRON) -- A man died after a "possible" physical fight on the DeAnza trail Friday morning, the Antioch Police Department said in a press release. The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on the trail near 4100 Null Drive. APD officers arrived at the scene and saw one of the individuals involved was unconscious, police said. APD and fire crews responded to the scene to perform life-saving measures, but the victim died at the scene. The victim was a Black man around 30 to 40 years old. The circumstances of what led to the unidentified victim's death were not revealed by APD. Police are investigating this incident as a homicide, and no suspect information is available at this time.
