Nineteen families lost their homes when a fire tore through a Cambridge condo complex in 2021. Nearly three years later, the families still cannot return home even though they’re still paying monthly condo fees. 7 Investigates recently looked into the situation, speaking to 80-year-old Julia Dubnoff, who is frustrated by the boarded-up windows and damage. “They said ‘Well, those three apartments, you would be displaced for eight months.’” Eight months has turned into nearly three years.In total, 19 units at the Continental Gardens were gutted on Jan. 13, 2021, with their residents forced to find other places to stay. Some live with families. Arrest made after Mater Dei High School receives shooting threat

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A 15-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after Mater Dei High School received an anonymous school shooting threat, according to Chula Vista police.Entry to or exit from the school was briefly suspended with the implementation of the "secure campus" protocol shortly before 12:30 p.m. The pause was initiated after CVPD was notified by a staff member that a caller threatened to commit a shooting at the school, authorities said.Police were on scene and had support from a DFR drone to search for any active threats, CVPD said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. At about 1:35 p.m., officers determined the campus was safe and lifted the closure.Preliminary investigation findings identified the possible individual that called in the threat as a 15-year-old juvenile in Chula Vista, who was not a student at the school. (KTXL) — A California man accused of allowing his 16-year-old daughter to sell nude photos online has been arrested, according to authorities.In August, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office said detectives began investigating a 16-year-old girl who they learned had a very well-known online presence on a variety of social media platforms. During their investigation, officials said the teen was allegedly selling illegal content online and made about $40,000. Google apologizes for sending drivers on off-road detours between L.A. and Vegas

Google has issued something of an apology after sending some drivers using Google Maps to travel between Los Angeles and Las Vegas on dangerous desert road detours, at least one of which turned out to be a road to nowhere that left people stranded.  The I-15 corridor between SoCal and Vegas is a popular one, especially during the Thanksgiving Holidays, which is why Shelby Easler, and her family took that route to watch the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday, Nov. 18.  Everything went great, according to Easler, until they used a Google Maps detour on their way back to L.A. to avoid a dust storm that shut down portions of the 15 Freeway on Sunday. “We thought it would be safer to avoid the dust storm,” she told KTLA’s Shelby Nelson. “So, it was like dust storm warning on this side, then an alternative route that would save you 50 minutes.”  Skipping a high wind event in the Mojave Desert seemed like a good idea, so Easler’s brother opted for the app’s alternate rout...
